Beacon Windmill
A unique, beautifully renovated Grade II listed Windmill and Granary situated in the coastal village of Ravenscar on the North Yorkshire Heritage Coastline. It is situated midway between Scarborough and Whitby. There are panoramic views from the large open-plan kitchen, dining and lounge area looking towards Scarborough, Filey Brigg and Flamborough Head.
It is the perfect spot for those who love the ‘great outdoors’. The cinder track, a 21 mile cycling and walking route on the former Scarborough to Whitby railway line can be accessed just a short walk from the windmill. There are many walks over the North Yorkshire Moors and the Cleveland Way runs along the cliff tops half a mile down the road.
ACCOMMODATION
The Windmill and Granary sleeps up to 8 people. It has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
ENTRANCE
Steps lead from the large parking area to the entrance into the glazed link which connects the Windmill and Granary.
THE GRANARY
Tiled hallway with the house bathroom off to the left with large bath, handbasin, wc and large shower cubicle.
THE LOUNGE
Up one step to the large lounge with beamed ceiling, 48in free sat TV. Large comfortable sofa and armchairs.
BEDROOM 1
Door leading from the lounge to the twin bedroom (3ft wide beds). Bedside ‘touch’ lamps. Large fitted wardrobe. Full length mirror and chair. Delightful sea view from the window.
OPEN-PLAN KITCHEN, DINING AND SEATING AREA
Down steps from the hallway into the spacious kitchen. Fully fitted units, fridge freezer, built in microwave. Double built-in oven, induction hob, dishwasher and washing machine. Dining area with large oak table and chairs. Seating area with 48in free sat TV. Wood burning stove. Patio doors leading out to flagged patio and lawned area.
THE WINDMILL
Tiled floor leading from the glazed link to BEDROOM 2 The largest bedroom with patio doors facing towards the long drive and large grassed area. Twin 3ft wide beds. 2 fitted wardrobes, 2 chest of drawers, large en-suite bathroom with large shower, wc and handbasin.
BEDROOM 3
Upstairs to the kingsize bed with bedside cabinets. Set of drawers, mirrored wardrobe, en-suite bathroom with shower, wc and handbasin. (Also 32in free sat).
BEDROOM 4
Upstairs to kingsize room with mirrored wardrobe, chest of drawers, en-suite bathroom with shower, wc and handbasin.
TOP FLOOR
Access from bedroom 4 via the loft ladder to the ‘look out room’ with views across the moors and towards the coastline.
OUTSIDE AREA
The Windmill and Granary are set in approximately one acre of land. There is a flagged patio outside the kitchen and dining area with table and seating for 8 people. This area faces the south and is ideal for al-fresco dining. There is a lawned area to the side of the patio plus another small lawn by the entrance to the property. The driveway also has a grassed area and there is ample parking for 4 cars.
HEATING
There is under-floor heating throughout the property. There is a wood burning stove in the seating area of the kitchen. (All wood is provided).
